When mom came to the hospital the next morning, I was feeling totally fine. The vet told me that I could go home.

But it takes an hour by car from home to the hospital, and it’ll be hard work for me to go back home and come back to the hospital again. Mom thought it’d be better to undergo surgery when my lungs’ condition is good.

She really wanted to make my heart disease better, so she asked the vet to let me stay more days in the hospital to have an operation as soon as possible. The vet accepted my mom’s strong request and admitted me to the hospital so that I can have surgery when it’s ready.

The day of the operation was July 7, the day of the Star Festival. The anesthetic was administered at 3:00 PM. Mom received a call from the nurse that I started the anesthetic. She definitely believed that my surgery would succeed.

Mom suddenly thought of changing all the batteries of clocks inside the house. It was a total of five clocks: four wall clocks and one alarm clock.

One of them was a cuckoo clock that needed two size D batteries, and the pendulum of it didn’t swing for years. Mom thought it was broken, but actually, she changed only one of the batteries for a long time. That day, she changed both of the batteries to a new one, and the pendulum started to swing strongly left and right.

Mom felt fresh vitality from the clock, and she was confident that it was a sign of my operation will succeed, and I’ll become better.
